hat DaeSean Hamilton didn't play
as a true freshman in 2013 was of
little consequence to most Penn
State fans.
That he was unable to practice at all for
the duration of the season – he was re-
covering from an untreated wrist injury
that he sustained in high school – likely
drew some small level of consternation.
But, when Hamilton still wasn't par-
ticipating as the Nittany Lions suited up
for spring practice in March 2014, concern
began to grow. A highly rated prospect
from Fredericksburg, Va., Hamilton had
the kind of resume – All-State recognition,
U.S. Army All-America notice, a three-
star ranking from Rivals.com coming out
of Mountain View High School – to suggest
he could potentially emerge as Allen
Robinson's heir. But that wasn't going to
happen unless he was healthy.
It wasn't until Penn State opened its
season against UCF last August that
Hamilton was able to answer questions
