160 ■ THE WOLVERINE 2015 FOOTBALL PREVIEW MICHIGAN TOP 15 Shores Southlake, he is poised for a big senior year. Pettaway — who is listed as a three-star prospect by Rivals.com — holds offers from Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State, Vanderbilt and several middle-tier schools. 10. David Reese, LB Farmington High School The 6-1, 238-pound Reese is the thumper in the middle that his size implies. The three-star player is able to use his instincts to get into the backfield and has worked hard to become more comfortable dropping into coverage. He is also a tough-nosed ball carrier at fullback, where he could contribute in college. Reese made an early commitment to Lou- isville, along with his teammate Fitzpatrick, but jumped on a Michigan offer this spring. 11. Jalen Martin, WR Harper Woods Chandler Park Academy Martin is a 6-2, 192-pound three-star re- cruit who is just scratching the surface of his potential. Also a basketball prospect, he is spent most of his summers playing on the AAU hoops circuit rather than working on the football field. If he chooses to focus on the gridiron for his college career, his upside is ex- citing. He is a big-bodied receiver who uses his bas- ketball skills to box out defenders and high point the ball. Martin holds several Mid-American Con- ference offers, but bigger offers should ar- rive if he makes the decision to play football at the next level. 12. Demetric Vance, S Detroit Cass Technical High School Vance first made his name as a big-bod- ied (6-3, 196 pounds) re- ceiver at a Cass Tech pro- gram that has been known more for smaller, flashy pass catchers. However, he started playing defense as a sophomore, and safety — or even outside linebacker — is likely his college future. He has the athleticism to make plays, and experience on that side of the ball should see him develop into a well- rounded player. Rivals.com ranks him as a four-star recruit and the No. 238 overall prospect nationally. Vance committed to Michigan State in May over offers from Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Tennessee and others. 13. Joshua Jackson, QB Saline High School The son of former Michigan running backs coach Fred Jackson (and younger brother of former U-M w i d e r e c e i v e r J e r - emy), Jackson is a 6-2, 1 9 5 - p o u n d p r o - s t y l e quarterback with the ath- leticism to make plays with his feet. The three- star signal-caller is an accurate passer and good decision maker. Jackson holds offers from Minnesota, Northwestern, Oregon State, Virginia Tech and several others, with the Wildcats and Gophers topping his list heading into the summer. 14. Armani Posey, Athlete Detroit Martin Luther King Collegiate Posey started his high school career at Detroit East English Vil- lage, playing wide re- ceiver and quarterback. However, he'll be a re- ceiver and defensive back for Detroit King this year. Though he is just 6-0 and 188 pounds, the three-star recruit is also capable of playing in the box as a linebacker. Posey is still seeking his first offer, but playing his natural position at a high-expo- sure program like King should make that happen this fall. 15. Lawrence Gordon, DE Bridgeport High School Gordon is a physically imposing defen- sive end, standing 6-4 and 244 pounds with long arms and a solid build. He has put his physical tools to use in offseason camps, but hasn't been able to translate that to much production on the field. In his first year at Bridgeport High School after leaving Sagi- naw Arthur Hill (which will merge with Saginaw High), he has a chance to turn potential into production. The three-star talent is still seeking his first scholarship offer, but with hard work in the classroom and on the field he has a chance to rise up recruiting boards quickly. ❏ Wolverine Car Seat 1-800-421-7751 THE WOLVERINE PO BOX 2331 •DURHAM, NC 27702 VISIT OUR ONLINE STORE TheWolverineOnDemand.com Please Add Sales Tax If Shipping To: NC 7.5%, IN 7%, MI 6% Delivery Available Within Continental U.S. Only $ 199 95 (Item #1177) FREE S&H (Limited Time Offer) Michigan Highback Car Seat • Approved for forward-facing use for children 30-80 lbs. • Distinct belt guides for easy installation • Wide and deep backrest for side-impact protection and comfort • Adjustable headrest grows along with child's height • Thick-cushioned air-permeable covers provide comfort and are easily removable and washable • Dual Sided Cup Holder Attachment • BONUS FEATURE!
