In addition, Augie Busch (women's swimming and diving), Kevin Sauer (rowing) and Kim Lewellen (women's golf ) also earned ACC Coach of the Year accolades in 2014-15. O'Connor led UVa to its sixth regional championship in the last seven years and fourth College World Series berth during the same time span, before guiding the Cavaliers to their first-ever NCAA title. Virginia compiled a 44-24 record for its 10th 40-win season in the last dozen years under O'Connor. The Cavaliers went 10-2 in NCAA Tournament play, including a 5-2 mark at the CWS, en route to the national crown. Bennett guided the Cavaliers to a 30-4 overall record and a 16-2 ACC finish that produced the program's second consecutive out- right regular-season conference title. The 30 wins matched the school record set in 1982 and 2014, and UVa became the first ACC school to win 16 or more league games in back-to-back seasons. Busch has now earned top coach honors in each of his first two seasons at UVa. This past year, he led the Cavaliers to their eighth consecutive ACC title — which is a conference record — and a fifth- place showing at the NCAA Championships — the highest team finish in program history. Sauer maintained his hold on the ACC's top coaching honor by leading the Cavaliers to their sixth straight ACC crown and 15th in 16 tries. He has earned the honor in each of the last six campaigns and 11 times overall. For an encore, he guided UVa to a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Championships for its ninth straight top-six showing. Lewellen earned ACC Coach of the Year honors for the first time since 2008 after leading the Cavaliers to three tourna- ment titles during the season and capturing the first conference championship in the program's 12-year history. She then led UVa to a top-20 finish at the NCAA Championships. Men's basketball coach Tony Bennett led UVa to another ACC title in 2014-15. PHOTO BY MATT RILEY/COURTESY UVA
