DeMatha Catholic senior shooting guard Markelle Fultz had perhaps one of the top five performances of the sum- mer at the Under Armour All-American Bas- ketball Camp in Charlotte, N.C. Fultz created a strong buzz July 9 when he scored 19 points in front of NC State assistant coach Bobby Lutz, but then erupted in his evening game. Rivals.com's No. 23 overall prospect in the class of 2016 went off for 35 points on 11-of-18 shooting. Fultz ended up leading the camp in scoring at 22.8 points per game, and earned offers from Kentucky, California and North Carolina in the process. NC State has been recruiting Fultz hard since offering him Feb. 8. Wherever Fultz played during the July evaluation period, odds were good that a Wolfpack coach was tracking him. "I have a good relationship with them, and I talk to all the coaches every day," Fultz said. "I'm trying to get a visit there sooner or later. That is my goal." Fultz is aware the Wolfpack is recruiting Smith, and the two Rivals.com five-star tal- ents know each other through playing to- gether at adidas Nations events. "Dennis Smith has been talking to me a lot about coming up there for a visit," Fultz said. "We could be a good backcourt duo. I'm cool with him, and we talk on the phone. That would be fun." Fultz officially visited Louisville Aug. 5-7 and Arizona Aug. 10-12. NC State will try to aim for one of his three other trips.
