82 ■ THE WOLFPACKER ■ BASKETBALL RECRUITING (40.9 percent) from beyond the arc in five games at the Under Armour Camp. "I'm trying to get back to where I can shoot it, and then it will open up my game a lot more for the drive," Fultz said. "I'm going to be doing that a lot more." The smooth 6-4, 180-pounder averaged 16.5 points per game as a junior and helped lead DeMatha to the Maryland Private Schools state title. He was named his confer- ence's player of the year and selected to The Washington Post All-Met first team. Rawle Alkins Plans To Go The Distance Rawle Alkins half-joked that he first has to find a prep school before worrying about picking a college. Alkins made the adidas Uprising Gauntlet title game his personal playground against a stacked Atlanta Celtics squad July 11. He drained 5 of 11 three-pointers en route to 34 points to lead his New York Rens traveling team to an 80-66 win. Alkins followed up by scoring 18 of his 26 points in the second half to help lead his adidas Nations squad to the title Aug. 2 in the Los Angeles event. He won MVP honors in the process and solidified himself as one of the top players in the country. Alkins, who attended Middle Village (N.Y.) Christ the King, must find a new school for next year after being credited with playing high school basketball during his eighth grade year in Florida. Alkins, who drew a who's who of col- lege coaches to his summer games, said he wouldn't be worrying about official visits any time soon. "Right now, my focus is on finding a prep school before I focus on a college," Alkins said. "Since I made that announcement, ev- ery prep school in the world has contacted me." Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill Acad- emy, Montverde (Fla.) Academy, Wolfeboro (N.H.) Brewster Academy and Huntington (W.Va.) Prep are in that group. Alkins did narrow his college list to 11 schools in early August — NC State, Kansas, Louisville, Kentucky, North Carolina, Indi- ana, St. John's, Arizona, Maryland, UNLV and Texas. "I'm going to make two big decisions," Alkins said. Rivals.com ranks the 6-4, 200-pound Alkins as the No. 15 overall player in the country in the class of 2016. He has at least 29 scholarship offers, including one from NC State on June 20, 2014. He unofficially visited NC State last mid-October for Throw- back with the Pack. "I was just talking to them," Alkins said Marsh & McLennan Agency is a proud supporter of NC State Athletics! GO PACK!
