No longer in football: Csont'e York, WR, Chris Fox, OL. REPORT CARD — C The 27-man class of 2013 had 15 four-stars and a five-star, with an av- erage star ranking of 3.63. Only six schools — USC (4.42), Notre Dame (3.92), Alabama (3.84), Ohio State (3.83), LSU (3.73) and UCLA (3.67) had better. Over the past two seasons, those six schools are 123-38 for a .764 winning percentage. Michigan went 12-13 in 2013-14 (.480), and while one class is not solely responsible for the success or failure of an entire team, the 2013 class was supposed to offer a wealth of difference-makers that pushed U-M over the top, from division contender to division champion and Big Ten ti- tle-game participant. There are a few pieces that might just change the fortunes of Michigan football, but there are too many play- ers that haven't contributed much. The class will ultimately be judged by how many emerge and whether they help lead the Maize and Blue back into conference contention. ❏ 2013 Class Overview Players In Class: 27 Rivals.com Team Ranking: No. 5 Players Still At Michigan: 24 Name Pos. Recruiting Stars Jake Butt TE 4 Comment: Michigan's best pass-catching tight end, Butt should be a focal point in the offense, capable of a 40-50-grab season. Taco Charlton DE 4 Comment: A prototypical strongside end with pass-rushing skills, but is playing catch-up after missing time in the spring with injuries. David Dawson OL 4 Comment: Still trying to prove he can be a potential starter, most likely fills in as a reserve guard this season. Reon Dawson CB 3 Comment: Has the length, at 6-2, coveted at the cornerback position but has to show he can contribute defensively. Ross Douglas RB 4 Comment: Spent 2013 at cornerback, 2014 at running back, this past spring at corner and opens fall camp at tailback. Jaron Dukes WR 3 Comment: Slowly emerging from an inconsequential role his first two seasons in vying to become a reliable possession receiver. Ben Gedeon LB 4 Comment: Saw the field as a key reserve in 2013-14, and is considered just a notch below U-M's two expected inside linebacker starters.
