n today's college football land-
scape, it is almost unheard of
for a class to redshirt significa-
tion portions of its haul, but of
the 15 remaining Wolverines from
the 2014 signees, 12 of them took
the year off (80.0 percent), including
tight end Ian Bunting, wide receiver
Drake Harris and linebacker-turned-
tight end Chase Winovich, all four-
star prospects.
Meanwhile, five-star Jabrill Pep-
pers was granted a medical redshirt
after suffering an injury three weeks
into his rookie campaign.
Entering their second year in Ann
Arbor, this class has contributed very
little in its young career, though left
tackle Mason Cole did start all 12
games a year ago, and defensive
tackle Bryan Mone appeared in all
12 games defensively with one start.
Compared to the 25- and 27-man
classes of 2012 and 2013, the 16-man
2014 class has smaller room for error,
but a quick glance at the makeup re-
veals 4-6 players that might start this
season and another 4-6 that should

freshmen had combined to start nine games
along the offensive line at Michigan. He
