FROM OUR READERS in the program who are set in their ways expecting things to just "go back to normal." I also think that's the mindset of a lot of fans; that winning big all the time is a birth rite. It's not. The playing field has leveled out over the past decade-plus in so many ways. We must earn our way back to prominence through finding new and innovative ways to win games. Jim is an obvious step in the right direction. [Adam] Rittenberg couldn't provide a bunch of guys on Jim's level, because there aren't any with his level of college and pro success who are currently at their alma mater. Luckily, as Cam said, Jim seems to understand how to get people to buy into his vision and thinking in the now. That will be the biggest difference. TheTeamxThree • I agree with you that it brings up some great points. It's just that there's really no apt comparison out there for a guy at the absolute top of his profession, with his profile, returning to his alma mater, who is desperate right now to win. The beauty of it is, after these past seven years, Michigan and its fans finally recog- nize that there is a problem that needs to be dealt with, and the program needs leadership. If this were right after Lloyd [Carr], I think you'd still have guys hung up on the Michigan way, too focused on how things were in the era they played, and an administration who might not view Harbaugh as the success that he's become. Kraut2k11 • Why do many simply assume Duncan Robinson will not be as good, if not bet- ter, than Nik Stauskas? Some things to consider: — Robinson is taller than Stauskas. — Robinson is physically stronger than Stauskas. — At least in three-point drills, Robinson has shot better than Stauskas. — John Beilein has already praised Robinson's passing skills. — Robinson has point guard ball-handling skills (he was a point guard in high school before having a big growth spurt). — According to reports, Robinson was one of the top three players at U-M practices last season (which means he was outperforming at least one of Levert, Walton or Irvin). — Robinson has demonstrated he can produce on the college level (albeit the Division III level, which is still better than high school ball). — A video from U-M basketball's Twitter account seems to show that Robinson has got some ups. This kid could very well end up being a star. There is at least some empirical data that supports this prediction. 92Wolv
