career with the Indiana Fever.
Achonwa scored nine of her 13
points in the third quarter to lead
the victory in her hometown. Reimer
scored 10 points in the defeat (she was
6 of 6 from the foul line), and averaged
6.4 points and 3.0 rebounds per game
contest in her five starts.
"It was a learning experience, but
definitely not how we wanted to fin-
ish. I feel like I got better, and I got
a lot of things that I can take back
to school," Reimer told Notre Dame
women's basketball media relations
director Chris Masters.
"It says a lot about the quality of our
program at Notre Dame that here we
are, battling for a gold medal and rep-
resenting our countries at the highest
level," Achonwa added.
As for Patberg, she joined Ameri-
can Pharoah for her own version of
the Triple Crown. In March, the 2015
MaxPreps National Player of the Year
guided her high school to its first In-
diana Class 4A title. In June, as Indi-
ana's Miss Basketball, she led her All-
Junior forward Taya Reimer helped USA Basketball earn a silver medal at the Pan-American games this
summer.
