W
hen Anaheim (Calif.) Servite quar-
terback Tyler Lytle threw at the Irish
Invasion camp in June, he was consid-
ered to be, for the most part, an after-
thought at quarterback.
After all, Lytle was a rising junior who
had yet to start a varsity game and was
throwing alongside Brownsburg (Ind.)
High five-star quarterback Hunter John-
son while in South Bend.
But what a difference just a few
months can make.
Following Johnson's commitment
to Tennessee Aug. 23, the Notre Dame
coaching staff had to hit reset when it
comes to recruiting quarterbacks in the
class of 2017, and Lytle has gone from a
relative unknown to potentially one of
the top targets under center next cycle
— but he's not alone.
In the span of just a few weeks, Notre
Dame has reworked its quarterback
board, and while there's no question
that Johnson was the top target for the
staff, Lytle and others have moved up
to replace him.
"Notre Dame is easily a top target
school for me," Lytle said. "It's an ex-
