talked about earlier, we've got to come out and maybe go huddle and not go no-huddle and run the ball to maybe give our defense a little bit more time on the sidelines. Could you evaluate your tight ends? How do you think they blocked on Saturday? Some people were sur- prised that there was not one catch from your tight ends. Could you talk about that? I don't think we blocked well. That's an area that we can definitely improve on. I think getting Kyle [Carter] back into the mix a little bit more will help us this week. I think Mike Gesicki playing a more prominent role will be better this week, and I think [Brent] Wilkerson, all those guys can do a better job. Again, the speed of the game sometimes is dif- ficult to replicate in practice, and I think that caught up with the tight ends a few times on Saturday. In the passing game, there is no doubt we want to get them involved. They were targeted a few times. We've got some things that we've got to clean up there, and I think there are some things we can do, plays that we have run in the past to get those guys the ball and get the ball to them quickly. You've told us in the past that sometimes you would like your quar- terback to get out and maybe scram- ble and gain 3, 4, 5 yards. Are you going to be reminding Christian of this, and do you think he should be getting rid of the ball when the rush is heavy? Do you think he should do that more? I think like I said with the sacks, there is a combination of reasons. It's not one person, it's the coaches, it's the O-line, it's the quarterbacks, the running backs, the receivers. Everybody had a hand in it. I think there are things we definitely can improve on and I think at times throwing the ball away and at times, stepping up in the pocket and getting 3, 4 yards would help, but I would also say the pressure that you typically do with a pro-style pocket quarterback is you pressure up the middle. You pressure up the middle, so a lot of times he didn't have those opportunities. You've seen Wooten more than we have. What does he bring to the table as a leader with Nyeem out, and the same thing with Cabinda. Wooten and Cabinda are both guys who have played and have experience. Wooten is a guy who has been playing here for a number of years now and has played well in his backup role. That's what we're going to look at this week. We're going to look at who is going to take control not only physically be able to make the plays but out there on the field making the calls and the checks. That's one of the things with our de- fense – there is a lot of communication that goes on, and everybody has got to be on the same page. So that's going to be the thing we're looking for this week – to see who steps up into that role. S E P T E M B E R 9 , 2 0 1 5 B L U E W H I T E O N L I N E . C O M 14 FRANKLIN CONTINUED FROM 13
