Recruiting Notes • Two weeks after welcoming more than 35 re- cruits to campus for the Texas game, Notre Dame will host just one official visitor for the Georgia Tech game Sept. 19. Washington (D.C.) St. John's College High four-star linebacker Aaron Hansford will be in town for the game with his family. Hansford — who is ranked by Rivals as the No. 4 talent in Washington, D.C., and the No. 14 out- side linebacker and No. 148 overall prospect in the country — is one of Notre Dame's top targets on the board at linebacker. He was offered by the staff June 2 and set up a visit soon after. "I have been a longtime fan of Notre Dame," Hans- ford said. "My family and I have never been up to South Bend before. It will be something new for me, but the tradition and fan base really spark some interest, plus the academics. A lot of people from St. John's went to Notre Dame. I have some teachers and know some alumni from the school — and they always have something good to say about Notre Dame." The 6-2, 210-pound Hansford is also considering Michigan State, UCLA, Oklahoma, Florida, Duke, Or- egon and North Carolina. He took an official visit to Michigan State the weekend of Sept. 12. "I'm interested in a number of schools," Hansford said.
