Teams in college football that opened their season with
three consecutive games against "Power Five" confer‑
ence schools: Notre Dame, South Carolina and Texas San‑
Antonio. The Fighting Irish began with Texas (Big 12),
Virginia (ACC) and Georgia Tech (ACC). All three
will see the streak end Sept. 26, with Mas‑
sachusetts from the Mid‑American Confer‑
ence being Notre Dame's foe.

listed as a second‑team preseason All‑
American. On the men's side, Notre Dame
is pegged as a No. 7 NCAA Tournament
seed that will finish fifth in the ACC, behind
Duke, North Carolina, Virginia and Louisville.
Senior ZACH AUGUSTE ranks No. 4 nationally
among post players and junior guard Demetrius
Jackson No. 8 among floor leaders. Auguste is a
first‑team All‑ACC selection, while Jackson is on the
second unit.
