UMASS RUNNING GAME VS.
NOTRE DAME RUN DEFENSE
The Minutemen had one of the country's worst
rushing offenses in 2014, ranking 112th nationally
with just 109.3 yards per game. UMass got off to
a better start this season, running for 147 yards
(5.1 yards per rush) in its opener against Colorado.
Freshman running back Marquis Young and junior
Shadrach Abrokwah combined for 118 yards on 16
rushes (7.4 yards per carry) against the Buffaloes.
Up front, UMass returns five starters that have
combined for 104 career starts. There is also good
size, with three starting linemen checking in at a
minimum 323 pounds.
