PREP PROFILES Paramus (N.J.) Catholic wide re- ceiver Donald Stewart once seemed like a Michigan lock, and while that is not the case anymore he is still an option. The 6-4, 185-pounder has regular communication with the Michigan staff and still feels like he is a prior- ity. There are other receivers higher on the board than t h e t h r e e - s t a r prospect, but he's definitely not an afterthought yet. "I talk to Coach [Jedd] Fisch and Coach [Chris] Par- tridge a lot," said Stewart, who hauled in 34 receptions for 662 yards and eight touchdowns during his junior season. "I also talk to Coach [Tim] Drevno and Coach [Jim] Harbaugh regularly, too. All of those guys are my main recruiters, so I probably talk to them every three days or so." When Michigan offered Stewart, it was his biggest offer on paper — but now some other big-time schools have joined the fray. Stewart talked about why he was so high on Michi- gan so quickly. "Obviously the Michigan offer was big," he said. "It's a big-time school, so when I got that offer I was very excited. It's nothing but great things still from the entire coaching staff and the school." Stewart has been to Ann Arbor be- fore but it's been a while. "I would like to take some more visits to Michigan, but it's hard to get up there moneywise," he explained. "I think my official visit will be the next time I get up there." Stewart will of- ficially visit Mich- igan for the Ohio State game at the end of Novem- ber and will also check out Stan- ford, his other top school, for their "Big Visit" in January. Those two, along with home-state school Rutgers, seem to the be three most likely to receive of- ficials at this time. "I'm trying to choose my top five schools right now," Stewart said. "My dad wants me to take my time, see each school, see the coaches one more time, and then make a better, educated decision." Stewart is unsure on who else could make up his five official vis- its. Rutgers certainly seems like a possibility, but he hasn't set that up yet and may not due to scholarship numbers with the Scarlet Knights. He will try to set his visits up in early September and take them throughout the fall before making a decision later on this year. — Brandon Brown Wolverines Still In Play For New Jersey Pass Catcher ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ Paramus Catholic High School Paramus, N.J.
