COMMITMENT PROFILE FILM EVALUATION Strengths: Ahmir Mitchell has an outstanding build for the wide receiver position, and that he's able to move as quickly and smoothly as he does with that height and weight makes him a mismatch for opposing defenses. He's capable of turning short passes into long gains (or even as a runner from the backfield, which he shows on film), and also getting over the top of the defense. He is powerful with the ball in his hands and uses his strength to outmuscle defensive backs for high passes. He's also an asset in the blocking game, able to not only stalemate edge de- fenders, but also drive them backwards and bury them. With added technique, that should be an asset thanks to his size. Areas of Improvement: While Mitchell has good speed and burst, he doesn't have that extra gear to run free through opposing secondaries. He won't likely need it at the next level, but he can fine-tune his technique to get faster. He's also shown occasional issues with dropping passes. That's something that he'll get plenty of time on the JUGS machine to work out, and could be a strength by the time he leaves Ann Arbor. Michigan Player Comparison: Braylon Edwards (2001-04) is a lofty goal, given that he was an All-American and Biletnikoff Award winner as the nation's top receiver. However, the strengths of Mitchell's game align with those of Edwards, and his career is one to aim for. — Analysis from TheWolverine.com
