Prosise had never played running back in his college career until receiving an audition this spring while also working at slot receiver. He was considered a complementary op- tion to juniors Tarean Folston and Greg Bryant, who were one-two in rushing last season with 889 and 289 yards, re- spectively. Instead, Prosise has become one of the amazing success stories through the first quarter of the 2015 campaign, averaging 150.3 yards per game and 7.6 yards per carry in place of the injured Folston and the transferred Bryant. We found only one other Notre Dame back who gained more than Prosise's 451 yards rushing through the first three games of any season. Here is our top five, post World War II: Running Back (Year) 1st Three Games 1. Phil Carter (1980) 499 yards 2. C.J. Prosise (2015) 451 yards 3. Autry Denson (1998) 367 yards 4. Vagas Ferguson (1979) 366 yards 5. Darius Walker (2005) 320 yards
