GAME PREVIEW: CLEMSON BY LOU SOMOGYI BATTLE OF ATTRITION Notre Dame's woes of losing six major players for the season to injury before the fourth game has been well documented. Among Power Five conference teams, Clemson might best rival the Fighting Irish when it comes to set- backs with personnel losses this year. One difference is that whereas Notre Dame returned 19 starters from last year 's Music City Bowl victors, plus added 26-game starter KeiVarae Rus- sell from 2012-13, Clemson had to re- place a plethora of front-line players from last year. Only three starters returned from the nation's No. 1-ranked total defense (260.8 yards allowed per game), with the most notable loss being first-round pick Vic Beasley at end. Six starters were back from the offense, but the line took some hits in the offseason as well as the regular season. • Redshirt sophomore defensive end TOP STOrylineS Sophomore wide receiver Artavis Scott — who had 20 catches for 188 yards and two touchdowns through three games this season — is now without his running mate, junior wideout Mike Williams, but the Clemson pass attack is expected to remain lethal.
