FOOTBALL RECRUITING BY ANDREW IVINS W ashington (D.C.) St. John's College High four-star linebacker Aaron Hansford arrived in South Bend the weekend of Sept. 18-20 with a general idea of what Notre Dame had to offer as both a school and football program. By the time he left campus, he was more than just versed in the basics. Hansford, who is ranked as the No. 14 outside linebacker and No. 148 overall prospect in the country by Rivals, is one of Notre Dame's top targets on the board this cycle, and he was treated like a VIP. "I think he learned quite a bit about Notre Dame," Aaron's father, Adam Hansford, told Blue & Gold Illustrated. "Overall, it's an incredible school. They have a lot to offer both academically and with athletics. It's a great program with a lot of tradition. "I think Aaron was pretty impressed seeing everything up front, in terms of the tradition and the talent level of the players there." Aaron Hansford was the lone offi- cial visitor in town for the Notre Dame- Georgia Tech game Sept. 19, and while his father said that the game-day envi- ronment was one of the highlights of the trip, what really stood out were the meetings that had nothing to do with football. "I think what distinguishes Notre Dame is just the global brand. They're just as competitive in the classroom as Four-Star Linebacker Aaron Hansford Gets The Full Notre Dame Experience Hansford — who stars for Washington (D.C.) St. John's College — enjoyed his time in South Bend, but also plans to see Oregon, UCLA and Florida before making a decision. PHOTO BY ANDREW IVINS
