Dear Cavalier Fans,
This is one of the VAF staff's favorite times of the year when the bustle of the
academic year is underway and student-athletes are busy with their training and com-
peting. It's also the time of year when we develop our strategy for the final months
of the 2015 fundraising campaign.
Back in February we launched the All In For Excellence fundraising initiative and
redefined our goals to support the athletics department. Below is a chart that depicts
the original fundraising target in all categories and the new goal of $22.5 million.
This includes the cost of attendance stipends that have now been incorporated into
the total scholarship costs. These new figures represent a 12% increase in our annual
fund from last year's total amount raised of $15.6 million.
As of September 18, we have raised a total of $15,410,195 towards our annual
fund goal of $17,500,000 and $17,421,177 towards the overall goal of $22.5 million. In addition, we have re-
ceived some recent gift commitments to endow several in-state scholarships with pledges of $250,000 for each
scholarship. We still have some work to do in order to reach our endowment goal of $4 million for this year. We
have raised $430,547 towards our goal of $1 million for operations.
