What does he bring on a daily basis for you and what were your thoughts? He's just a really consistent guy in everything he does. In school, he's con- sistent, in terms of his approach and work ethic, he's consistent. We watch it on film, and we see it in practice every single day. You know when you throw the ball in his direction, good things usually happen. You're going to see him get more and more opportunities, but that's just kind of who he is. How is your offensive approach and execution different without Saquon Barkley in the lineup? Well, as I think we all know and have seen, the guy has the ability to make guys miss. We had a few times tonight where we had guys one on one and weren't able to do that. So you talk about receivers catching the ball, break- ing a tackle, making someone miss or running backs having the ball in the hole and making one person miss. It ob- viously is a factor in the game. That's important for us. [Not having] Marcus Allen, not having Brandon Bell, not having Saquon Barkley or Akeel Lynch, losing Angelo Mangiro throughout the game, and not having Andrew Nelson [are problems that] factor in, there's no doubt about it. Any of the kids who didn't play today, could they have under differ- ent circumstances? I think it depends on who you talk to. If you talk to the kids, yes. If you talk to the trainers, no. They weren't ready to play this week, and it wasn't like we were holding anybody for anything. Hopefully we will have an opportunity to get the guys back. If you ask the guys if they can play they all say, "Oh yeah, Coach, I'm ready." But if you talk to the trainers, they say no. We are always going to put the safety of our players first and make sure they are taken care of, and we have great trainers to do that. The wideouts don't seem to be get- ting much separation down the field, and this is Army. It's not a speed out- fit, and you weren't getting deep at all. What about that? We've got to be better, we've got to get better in all of those areas, there's no doubt about it. I think we have to throw the ball more consistently and take some more shots to give those guys op- portunities. Whether they're getting separation or not, I'll check the film to see that, but you look at Chris Godwin, he's coming down with contested catches and making them with people on his back. So whether he gets separa- tion and runs away from people or whether he makes contested catches, the most important thing is that when you have an opportunity to make a play, he makes it.
