BY LOU SOMOGYI I n 1991, Notre Dame became col‑ lege football's first Division I‑A team to have all its home games broadcast exclusively over one network — NBC. The ground‑breaking contract came to fruition in February 1990, after the Fighting Irish had posted a 24‑1 record the previous two seasons, highlighted by a school record 23‑game winning streak and the 1988 national title. Most of the NCAA was taken aback by this exclusivity in coverage — Sports Illustrated headlined it as "We're Notre Dame, And You're Not." — but the Irish were ahead of their time. In April 2013, the NBC contract was ex‑ tended through the 2025 season.
