the surplus of mistakes was. Ev-
erything that could have went
wrong for Notre Dame Oct. 3 at
Clemson, S.C., did.
The Irish fell 24-22 to the Tigers in a
game that had the makings of a perfect
storm for a team that was eyeing a run
at the College Football Playoff.
Notre Dame (4-1) failed to convert
a pair of two-point conversions, lost
three fumbles, blew multiple assign-
ments on defense and, most impor-
tantly, allowed Clemson (4-0) to build
an early lead in a hostile environment
at Memorial Stadium.

The Irish are unable to overcome
a deluge of mistakes in 24-22
defeat at Clemson
Sophomore quarterback DeShone Kizer nearly rallied the Irish from an 18-point second-half deficit, but
came up short on a two-point conversion that would have tied the game in the waning seconds.
