GREER MARTINI THRIVES
VERSUS THE OPTION
After Notre Dame's 41-24 victory
over the Midshipmen, Notre Dame
players expressed joy about not hav-
ing to face the triple option again until
next season.
Sophomore linebacker Greer Martini
is the one Irish player who might not
share that sentiment. The Cary, N.C.,
native has made four starts in his ca-
reer and three have come against an
offense that runs the option. Martini
has racked up 52 tackles in his career,
and half (26) have come against the
triple option.
Martini tied his career high with
nine tackles in the 17-point win,
matching the mark he set last season
against the Midshipmen in his first
career start. He also made eight tackles
in a 30-22 victory over Georgia Tech
Sept. 19.
Despite not having much past expe-
rience against the option, Martini has
been able to thrive against that offense
at Notre Dame.

ing of his job, and he's a disciplined
