says a lot about our defense."
Freshman kicker Justin Yoon …
On if he knows from the start
when field goals like his 52-yarder
against Navy are good: "I do. Just
like a golf shot or anything, you
know if you hit it right or didn't hit it
right. With the 52, I knew I hit it well,
but I wasn't sure if I hit that all the
way through.
"But looking up and seeing all the
guys coming out and cheering me
on, that's what told me I made it."
On challenges he's faced so far:
"Trying to get my momentum as a
freshman wasn't easy. I was a fresh-
man going on the football field for
the first time in a big spotlight, and
that's a difficult experience.
"As I've progressed through the
games, my teammates have put their
trust in me. That's the biggest thing."
Navy head coach Ken Niumat-
alolo …
On his team's inability to slow
down the Notre Dame offense: "We
didn't get enough stops, especially
when we needed them. But Coach
Kelly does a great job. I always
thought this: that he's one of the best
head coach, offensive play callers in
the country. He does a really good
job of keeping you off balance. He's
got a great feel for the game, and he
just had us off balance.
"They are well coached with good
schemes, and we just had a hard time
stopping them."
