says a lot about our defense." Freshman kicker Justin Yoon … On if he knows from the start when field goals like his 52-yarder against Navy are good: "I do. Just like a golf shot or anything, you know if you hit it right or didn't hit it right. With the 52, I knew I hit it well, but I wasn't sure if I hit that all the way through. "But looking up and seeing all the guys coming out and cheering me on, that's what told me I made it." On challenges he's faced so far: "Trying to get my momentum as a freshman wasn't easy. I was a fresh- man going on the football field for the first time in a big spotlight, and that's a difficult experience. "As I've progressed through the games, my teammates have put their trust in me. That's the biggest thing." Navy head coach Ken Niumat- alolo … On his team's inability to slow down the Notre Dame offense: "We didn't get enough stops, especially when we needed them. But Coach Kelly does a great job. I always thought this: that he's one of the best head coach, offensive play callers in the country. He does a really good job of keeping you off balance. He's got a great feel for the game, and he just had us off balance. "They are well coached with good schemes, and we just had a hard time stopping them." — Jordan Wells
