UNDER THE DOME Irish student-athletes excelling on the field and in the classroom Ryann DeJarld — Volleyball The freshman libero finished with 28 digs in a heartbreaking 3-2 loss at home against Syracuse Oct. 4. It marked the 11th most digs in a single game in program history in the rally-scoring era (2001-present). The high school second-team Under Armour All-American set her career high (30) earlier this season against Hofstra Sept. 5. Her 229 total digs as of Oct. 7 were a team high. Isabella DiLisio — Women's Golf The freshman is off to a strong start in her college career, notch- ing a runner-up finish while helping the Irish win the team title by 30 strokes at the Chip-N Club Invitational Oct. 5-6 in Lincoln, Neb. She fired a 2-under-par 214 to finish just two strokes behind the medalist. The 2014 Hewlett-Packard Scholastic Junior All-American shot a 6-under-par 66 in the second round, compiling seven birdies and just one bogey to tie the school single-round record. Patrick Hodan — Men's Soccer The senior midfielder picked up his first goal of the season in a 4-2 home win over Marquette Sept. 29, and also contributed an assist in the Irish victory. The 2014 All-American's goal gave Notre Dame a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute, and his assist to senior defender Michael Shipp evened the score at 2-2 in the 73rd minute, setting up the eventual Irish come-from-behind win. Molly Seidel — Cross Country The senior overcame midweek illness to finish third overall in the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational held at Burke Golf Course in South Bend Oct. 2. The 2014 All-American in both cross country and track com- pleted the 5,000-meter race in a time of 16:28.3, barely trailing the winning time of 16:22.9 from North Carolina State freshman Ryen Frazier.
