BASKETBALL RECRUITING after offer. Coach Beilein really takes the time thinking about the right fit, if a kid really likes the school and is thinking about going there. Being the first in the 2017 class is amazing." Poole said his entire family — mother, father and sister — liked the trip as much as he did. He's visited Il- linois, Wisconsin, Marquette, Indiana, Michigan and Drake, and he returned for U-M's football game with MSU Oct. 17. Poole will announce Oct. 23 at his school, and the Wolverines appear to be in the driver's seat after his recent trips. Michigan also offered class of 2017 power forward Jaren Jackson during the Oct. 9 weekend after an outstand- ing visit, his second trip to Ann Arbor in the last few months. Jackson (6-9, 215, Rivals.com's No. 61 junior na- tionally) is familiar with U-M and has watched the Wolverines closely. "It was great to hang out with the players this time, and the foot- ball game had a lot of energy," Jackson said. "Practice was also very competitive." Indiana, Michigan State, Mary- land, Purdue, Illinois and George- town are among the others that have offered. Jackson is in no rush to make a decision. The Indianapolis Park Tudor stand- out said Michigan was "of course" one of his favorites, in part because the coaches have been on him for a long time. Assistant coach Jeff Meyer visited his school the week of Sept. 9. Jackson averaged 10 points, seven rebounds and five blocked shots for Park Tudor a year ago, and the school's head coach Kyle Cox said he expects him to play an even big- ger role in 2015-16. Butler, Indiana and Michigan State trips were also planned this fall. OHIO SLEEPER RECLASSIFIES AND VISITS MICHIGAN AGAIN Beachwood (Ohio) shooting guard Maishe Dailey (6-6) isn't rated among the top 150 prospects in the country, but he probably will be soon. Injuries have prevented him from realizing his potential, and he plans to take a prep season to continue raising his stock after an impressive summer. Dailey was having an outstanding junior year before a stress fracture in his foot sidelined him during Febru- ary — but not before he earned league MVP honors. Then, during an April AAU tournament, a defender under- cut him while he was trying to dunk and broke Dailey's right wrist. He came back with a vengeance, picking up 12 Division I offers in a 20- day stretch, beginning July 10. High Point, Robert Morris, Winthrop, Bry- ant, Eastern Michigan, Illinois State, Rider, Toledo, Youngstown State, George Mason, Loyola (Ill.) and Dela- ware all offered, but bigger schools — including Michigan — have shown interest. Dailey has been in Ann Arbor a few times and was back for U-M's home football weekend with Northwestern Oct. 10. "My visit was nice," he said. "The football game was crazy. "They heard I was going to prep
