"For someone that had to earn his way onto the team, it's been pretty incredible how far he's come. It's to the point where when you watch him, you think he's a scholarship guy and would never know the difference un- less someone told you," said former defensive end, and current TheWol- verine.com football analyst, Ryan Van Bergen (2008-11). "He has been handling offensive linemen this year. His hands are strong. He has a really quick step into a swim move that he has used a lot on pass rushes, and he counters that with a push-pull; both are NFL-cal- iber moves. He executes them flaw- lessly, and he does it with power and consistency. "There might still be a stigma as- sociated with being a walk-on, but the guys on the field don't care and the coaches don't care. Ryan Glasgow is the perfect example that it doesn't matter how many stars you had com- ing out of high school. He's a stud." Graham will likely finish off his ca- reer at Michigan competing for all- conference honors, and Ryan should also receive recognition from the Mike Hammerstein, Don Dufek and Mike Mallory were all the stars of their families; Mark Hammerstein, Bill Dufek and Doug Mallory experienced suc- cess at U-M, but none could match their older brother for contributions and accolades. In the Glasgow household, Ryan may end up surpassing Graham in impact, though with 31 career starts over three seasons, Graham is poised for a strong flourish to end his tenure. "I think his physicality — he's really dialed it up a lot this year," Ryan said about his older brother. "I was on the bench for the BYU game watching our offense on the big screen. I saw him drive the nose tackle back like three or four yards on a few plays, and I was really impressed. "Before, Graham was a guy that got his job done consistently, moved guys on occasion, but now he has really stepped it up and is getting after the defensive linemen." In addition to the six brother groups already named, other famous U-M sibling combinations include: • S Dwight (1974-77) and CB Ivan Hicks (1984-86) • LB Erick (1988-91) and OL Kurt Anderson (2000-01) • TE Derrick (1986-89) and LB Marcus Walker (1991-93) • LB John (1999-2002) and TE David Spytek (2001-03) • LB Eric (1998-2001) and TE Phillip Brackins (2000-02) • S Julius (1999-2002) and CB Markus Curry (2001-04) • LB Joey (2001-04) and DL Paul Sarantos (2002-05) • TE Shawn (1998-2001) and FB Brian Thompson (2003-06) • DL Pat (2002-05) and TE Mike Massey (2005-08) — Michael Spath
