Aside from the game against Rutgers, for which roughly 50 of the sta/'s top prospects made the trip to Happy Valley to watch Penn State defeat the Scarlet Knights, 28-3, the visitor lists were limited during the .rst half of the season. Because there are no preseason games with which to judge the team's preparation heading into the season, the sta/ typically tries to limit distractions by restricting the visitor list to prospects who have already com- mitted or won't be able to visit later in the year. Another factor that kept atten- dance down was the stormy fall weather. Several prospects who had planned to visit ended up holding o/ until later in the season. While the overall numbers may have been small, the sta/ did receive visits from a few of their top Class of 2017 prospects.
