That's not too far behind Illinois (No. 60 nationally), and the Illini are expected to give the Irish a tough game this season. Stony Brook also ranks higher than ACC opponents such as Virginia Tech (No. 130) and Boston College (No. 157). The runner‑up up‑ set selection goes to Loyola Chicago, with the Ramblers returning four start‑ ers from their 24‑13 team last season. They're ranked No. 106 in the country in's preseason ratings.
