FOOTBALL RECRUITING No. 242 overall prospect nationally. Currently just outside the Ri- vals250, Baltimore Gilman offensive lineman Devery Hamilton's good season could see him move into bo- nus point territory, and two of the lowest-ranked players in the class — Cooper City (Fla.) High defen- sive end Rashad Weaver and Dudley (Mass.) Shepherd Hill Regional tight end Sean McKeon — are not currently among Michigan's top 20 pledges in the rankings, and therefore don't even count against the total. How- ever, they have shown plenty this fall, and while a move from two to four stars is too much to ask, they could boost into the high three-star range. REALISTIC FINISH Michigan is in good position with Gary and Walker, and could finish with one of the other three five-star prospects still on the board. Landing four of the four-star Rivals250 players would total seven new commitments. Add another three-star (whose ranking would be low enough to prevent him from counting to the team total), and you have a 28-man class — minus Fal- con and Reese, unfortunately — that contends to be near the top of the team rankings. The optimistic end would have Michigan at about 2,900 team rank- ings points — within spitting distance of the recent threshold for No. 1 over- all — and the pessimistic would be around 2,700 points.
