As of this writing, it was still unclear how many of the expected visitors were on hand for the game, but we know the staff was expecting roughly 20 junior prospects who already hold a Penn State offer, including offensive lineman Robert Hainsey. A native of Monroeville, Pa., Hainsey opted last summer to transfer to IMG Academy in Florida. He currently holds 17 scholarship offers, but it's be- lieved that Penn State and Michigan State are his top two teams. Another offensive lineman to remem- ber is Jordan McNair of Owings Mills, Md. So far, McNair holds 10 total schol- arship offers, but it looks as if the Nit- tany Lions are currently the team to beat. Ohio State and Maryland are also in contention, but a commitment to Penn State this spring wouldn't surprise us. A few other notable Class of 2017 re- cruits that were expected include line- backer Jordan Anthony of Bradenton, Fla., defensive back Devon Hunter of Chesapeake, Va., defensive end Yetur Matos of Fredericksburg, Va., linebacker Avery Roberts of Wilmington, Del., and offensive lineman Isaiah Wilson of Brooklyn, N.Y. The staff also hosted roughly a dozen sophomore prospects from the Class of 2018. Quarterback Phil Jurkovec of Pine- Richland High in Gibsonia, Pa., and de- fensive end Micah Parsons were the most notable players on hand. Jurkovec al- ready holds seven offers and is on pace to be one of the region's top quarterbacks for his class. Parsons holds four early of- fers, but that list is expected to grow sub- stantially once schools are able to review his film this winter. Both Jurkovec and Parsons have already landed offers from James Franklin and his staff. Rivers joins four-star prospect Sean Clifford in the Nittany Lions' Class of 2017. Clifford, a quarterback from St. Xavier High in Cincinnati, was among the players expected to be on hand for Penn State's game against Michigan on Saturday.
