UNDER THE DOME Irish student-athletes excelling on the field and in the classroom Anna Rohrer — Cross Country The freshman from Mishawaka, Ind., placed second overall at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Nov. 13 in Madison, Wis., finish‑ ing the 6,000‑meter race in a time of 20:18.4. In a field that also included Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan State, Wisconsin and Indiana among its 31 teams, the 2014‑15 National Gatorade Runner of the Year placed behind only All‑ American senior teammate Molly Seidel, who won the race in a time of 20:04.4. Thomas Ueland — Soccer The freshman forward/midfielder from Lexington, Ky., deliv‑ ered the eventual game‑winning goal in the 60th minute of the ACC Tournament semifinal against No. 1 Wake Forest Nov. 11, helping Notre Dame advance to the championship game with a 1‑0 win. The former National Soccer Coaches Association high school All‑American had four goals for the Irish this year as of Nov. 16, and the Wake Forest marker was his second game‑winner of the season. Anna Marie Gilbertson — Soccer The senior forward from Davis, Calif., scored two goals and added an assist in Notre Dame's 5‑0 win over Oakland in the opening round of the NCAA Championship Nov. 13, helping the Irish advance to the second round. The second‑team All‑ACC honoree had scored a team‑high 13 goals as of Nov. 19. Meg Morningstar — Volleyball The freshman from Wexford, Pa., put together her best ACC match of the season in a 3‑1 loss to Miami Nov. 15, finishing with eight kills and six blocks. The 2014‑15 USA Today Gatorade Player of the Year in Pennsyl‑ vania boasted a team‑high .278 kill percentage in conference play as of Nov. 18, and had compiled 95 kills and 80 blocks.
