Family and friends, a lot of NC State red and white, and even some Halloween trick or treaters made for a very enthusiastic group. Former cross country and track and field athlete, Christy Goodi- son O'Brien ('99) and her husband, Darren, welcomed their ninth child, Immaculée Miriam O'Brien, on Sept. 3. Barbara and Dale Merrell took advantage of the hospitality on the Queen Mary 2, while returning from Scotland in September. Augusta Ann Carroll ('05) and Brian Anthony Gaertner were married Aug. 15 in Raleigh. The reception was held at the North Carolina State University Club. The couple incorporated many Wolfpack details in their wedding day, including a Mr. and Ms. Wuf cake topper made by the bride and a pom-pom send-off in a car decorated with NC State flags. Second Lieutenant Matt Lester ('14) and Specialist Blake Isley ('13) represent NC State atop Mt. Duke in Kosovo. Mt.
