12 ■ THE WOLFPACKER NC State has added four noteworthy football commitments to its 2016 recruiting class. Three-star defensive tackle Ben "Shug" Frazier from Buford (Ga.) High narrowed his finalists to NCSU and Florida before an- nouncing his pledge to the Wolfpack Oct. 29. He had previously officially visited NC State the weekend of Sept. 11 and went to a camp in June. "Sometimes you get that feeling right off the top that this move is the right move," Frazier said. "When I took my official visit with my mom and my dad, it was pretty much like we looked at each other and I told them, 'This is what I have been talking about.' "I took a visit before that for a camp. I was just like, 'This atmo- sphere here is different. The people here are different, and I love everything about it.' My parents agreed with me. I feel like they are turning their program around, and I want to be a part of that." Rivals.com rates the 6-2, 320-pound Frazier as the No. 27 defen- sive tackle in the country and No. 38 prospect in Georgia's 2016 class. Three-star wide receiver C.J. Riley of Coconut Creek (Fla.) North Broward Prep announced his commitment Nov. 27, the day after Thanksgiving. He had made an official visit to Raleigh the previous weekend and traveled to Nebraska in October. Riley also had Duke in his top three and possessed offers from Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Pittsburgh, Vanderbilt and West Virginia, among others. The 6-4, 190-pound Riley caught 35 passes for 679 yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior. This past fall, he finished with 40 recep- tions for 1,047 yards and 13 scores. Rivals.com rates Riley as the No. 81 senior in talent-rich Florida. He also competes in track and field, and reached the Florida 2-A state championship in the triple jump after finishing third at region- als with a personal-best leap of 42-3. At the Nike Opening in Miami last spring, Riley was laser-timed at 4.64 seconds in the 40-yard dash and registered a 35.1-inch verti- cal leap. He also had a nine-foot, 10-inch standing broad jump at NCSU's summer camp in June. Three-star safety Isaiah Stallings from Fayetteville (N.C.) Terry Sanford High committed to NC State over Clemson, Duke, Ole Miss and South Carolina on Dec. 7. He announced his decision one day after returning from an official visit. Stallings had a huge senior season for Terry Sanford, which went 12-2 and reached the quarterfinals of the 3-AA state play- offs. He posted a team-high 159 tackles, including 102 solo hits and five sacks. He picked off six passes and broke up seven more. Stallings also forced a fumble and recovered one. Rivals.com ranks Stallings the No. 19 senior from the state of North Carolina and the No. 33 safety nationally in the 2016 class. He has been selected to play in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas All-Star Game in Spartanburg, S.C., on Dec. 19, and Stallings was named the Cape Fear Valley 3-A conference co-defensive player of the year. He also plays basketball for Terry Sanford. An unexpected coaching change at East Carolina opened the door for the Pack to get offensive tackle Justin Chase from Chesa- peake (Va.) Great Bridge High. NC State gave Chase an offer last spring, but by that point his loyalty to East Carolina's extended recruitment prevailed for the Pirates. Marshall and Temple were among Chase's other offers. ECU fired head coach Ruffin McNeil on Dec. 4, and four days later he switched his pledge to the Wolfpack. The 6-6, 290-pounder was first-team all-conference as a senior and also played defensive tackle. The three give the Pack 17 verbal commitments in the 2016 class. — Matt Carter Wolfpack Adds Four More To Football Recruiting Class TRACKING THE PACK ■ 2016 NC State Football Commitments Name Pos.
