66 ■ THE WOLFPACKER
I want to be someone who builds."
Antonelli took that basic concept with
her when she graduated in 1986, majoring
in business management and economics.
Through advice from Yow and former Pack
assistant athletic director Kevin O'Connell,
Antonelli enrolled in the Masters program
for sports management at Ohio Univer-
sity, where she met future husband Frank
Antonelli on the first day of class. They
married in 1992.
By then, Antonelli had started on her
original path of being a sports administra-
tor, serving as the first director of market-
ing at the University of Kentucky, where
she doubled as part of the radio team for
UK women's basketball.
In 1992, she moved on to Ohio State,
where she convinced a local cable TV com-
pany to be the first to televise the Buckeyes
women's games. Antonelli put together a
sponsor package, sold the advertising and
served as analyst for an eight-game series
that was eventually picked up by the lo-
cal TV station carrying OSU football and
men's basketball.
And when it came time to renew the
radio rights for the Buckeyes football and
men's basketball package, Antonelli played
a key role in getting half the women's
games added to the deal, giving OSU the
first statewide radio network for women's
hoops in the country.
WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
Antonelli started her last three seasons, 1983-
86, for Hall of Fame coach Kay Yow.
