  FOOTBALL RECRUITING BY TIM SULLIVAN O ver the course of their existence, national high school All-America games — beginning with the inau- gural U.S. Army All-American Bowl in 2001, plus the Under Armour All- America Game, the Semper Fidelis All-America Game and the Offense- Defense All-American Bowl — have been an opportunity for future college standouts to showcase their talents against the best players in the land. Since defensive back Marlin Jackson and linebacker Pierre Woods head- lined Michigan participants in the first U.S. Army All-American Bowl, the Wolverines have been well rep- resented. The high-water mark for U-M com- mits in all-star games was 2013, when six Wolverines (offensive linemen David Dawson, Pat Kugler and Lo- gan Tuley Tillman, linebacker Mike McCray, defensive lineman Henry Poggi and quarterback Shane Morris) were selected to the Under Armour Game; five (defensive backs Dymonte Thomas and Jourdan Lewis, tight end Jake Butt, offensive lineman Chris Fox and running back Derrick Green) were invited to the Army game; and five (defensive tackle Maurice Hurst, defensive back Ross Douglas, defen- sive end Taco Charlton, offensive line- man Kyle Bosch and running back Wyatt Shallman) were picked to the   FOOTBALL RECRUITING All-Star Season Hartland (Wis.) Arrowhead standout Ben Bredeson, the No. 4 offensive guard and No. 65 overall prospect nationally according to, was the only U-M commit, as of Dec. 8, slated to take part in the Under Armour All-America Game.
