Bird team that went 11-1 and fell short in the playoffs. He was part of a defense that posted seven shutouts and gave up just 5.2 points a game. • OL Dillan Gibbons: The junior averaged five pancake blocks per game for a St. Petersburg (Fla.) Northside Christian team that went 8-2. • LB Daelin Hayes: The U.S. Army All-American's senior season lasted just two and a half games after a shoulder injury sidelined him in week three for Ann Arbor (Mich.) Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) High three-star safety Devin Studstill was scheduled to make a decision and pick among Notre Dame, West Virginia, Texas, Miami and North Carolina. The 6-1, 183-pound Studstill had long been a target for the Irish, and the interest was more than just mutual. "It exceeded my expectations," Studstill said after he visited for the Irish Invasion in June. "What stood out to me is what Notre Dame does after football." Studstill is ranked by Rivals as the No. 63 recruit in Florida and No. 45 athlete in the country. — Andrew Ivins Follow @BGI_aivins on Twitter for daily recruiting updates available on BlueandGold.com!
