25. JOE BOLDEN Senior, LB Bolden paced the Wolverines in tackles this season, notching 83 overall stops. Those included 6.5 tackles for loss, and he also managed a pair of quarterback hurries and a fumble recovery that he returned 18 yards. A targeting call after he was blocked into a prone MSU quarterback Connor Cook kept Bolden out of the crucial sec- ond half of that game, and he — like everybody else — re- mains baffled by the actual definition of targeting in col- lege football. Bolden finished his Michigan career with 270 tackles in 51 games played, with five sacks and 18.5 tackles for loss. ❏ A Look Back At The Preseason Top 25 The preseason top 25 produced by The Wolverine made plenty of accurate calls, getting four of the top five correct, if not in order. Still, one major swing and a miss cannot be ignored. The team MVP? He was nowhere to be found. The fact is, redshirt junior wide receiver Jehu Chesson hadn't done anything head-turning prior to the arrival of Jim Harbaugh and his staff. He'd secured 29 catches and one touchdown in the two years leading up to 2015. Nice young man, great attitude, but production-wise, he had lingered in the shadows of others. Not so this season. Chesson stepped to the forefront, not only in catching the football (50 receptions for 764 yards and nine touchdowns) but in leadership as well. He also ran the ball eight times, with an average of 19.4 yards per try and two more touchdowns. He even averaged 41.5 yards per kickoff return, including a 96-yarder for a score. In short, he became a key weapon in multiple facets for the Wolverines, one good enough to be recognized above everyone on the roster at the Michi- gan Football Bust. Senior linebacker Joe Bolden closed out his career by leading the Wolverines with 83 tackles. PHOTO BY PER KJELDSEN
