focused coach and that's a big part of what he thinks
the Cavaliers have to change in order to truly com-
pete in the ACC.
"I think there are a number of things. Certainly
football is just the most visible part," he explained.
"There's an organizational alignment, efficiency and
blueprint that needs to be followed, plus outlined
and detailed absolutely clearly so that all parties —
anything that touches a football player and especially
what happens down here in what I'm calling the ath-
letic village — need to grasp and link arms around.
Really, it will start with that.
"The idea of Uncompromised Excellence," Men-
denhall said, "is something I take literally. I want
anyone that has an impact or contact with a football
player here to be reinforcing that and asking our
