2 Cavaliers were part of the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame class of 2016 —former star linebacker James Farrior and longtime UVA sports information director Rich Murray. 3 Virginia baseball players were ranked among Base- ball America's list of the top 100 draft prospects, which was released in early January — third-year right- handed pitcher Connor Jones checked in at No. 7, third- year catcher Matt Thaiss was at No. 73 and third-year shortstop Daniel Pinero was at No. 86. 6th place was the Wahoos' rank in the final fall standings of the Directors' Cup; it was the third-best mark for an ACC school. 9th is where the women's lacrosse team was listed in the preseason rankings from Inside- Lacrosse.com. AROUND THE GROUNDS NUMBERS 25 Players made the midseason watch list for the John R. Wooden Award, which is annually presented to the top player in college basketball and redshirt fourth-year guard MALCOLM BROGDON made the cut.
