2016 RECRUITING ISSUE has included Las Vegas Bishop Gorman and out‑of‑state trips elsewhere. Bosco finished No. 3 nationally in USA Today's Super 25 poll in 2013 and No. 11 this past season. Among the players Morgan has com‑ pleted against are current Irish fresh‑ men Equanimeous St. Brown and Alizé Jones, plus fellow incoming recruit Ja‑ von McKinley, whose Centennial team won a 62‑52 shootout against Bosco in the state semifinals. The decision to attend Notre Dame to Morgan is like an extension of continu‑ ing his education at Bosco, both on and off the field. "It's being around great people who push you to be better," Morgan said. "There are a lot of great guys and a lot of competition here — and we played nationwide, just like Notre Dame." The rangy Morgan will receive his first tryout at safety, a position of need, although he could grow into an outside linebacker. Notre Dame's staff has compared his frame and style to current Irish sophomore Drue Tran‑ quill. "He's as college‑ready as any kid who has left our program," said St. John's Bosco head coach Jason Negro, who annually produces at least a half‑ dozen major college prospects. "We try to mirror what college programs are like, and the time commitments are very similar. "D.J. is always 'all in' with whatever he does, is very intelligent in his com‑ munication, and is extremely coach‑ able." Motivation will not be an issue, ei‑ ther. ✦
