he final verdict on Notre Dame's
2016 recruiting haul remained in-
complete while awaiting a decision
from Savannah (Ga.) Christian School
five-star wide receiver Demetris Rob-
ertson.
National Signing Day was on Feb. 3,
and while that is when about 99 per-
cent of high school prospects ink their
letters of intent, on occasion some will
wait because of mitigating circum-
stances. In 2012, Notre Dame signed
two-time Arizona Player of the Year
DaVonté Neal a week after National
Signing Day (although he would end
up at the University of Arizona after
his freshman season).
In Robertson's case, Notre Dame
will have to wait until at least some-
time from Feb. 13 through Feb. 17
(Blue & Gold Illustrated went to press
Feb. 9), if not longer.
Rated as the nation's No. 1 athlete
and No. 8 overall prospect by Ri-
vals, Robertson took an official visit
to Georgia Tech Jan. 29, and was still
looking to travel to Alabama (where
he was formerly committed) and
Georgia while trying to get schedules
worked out on both sides.
"We just want to take more time,"
said his brother and legal guardian,
Carlos Robertson, in an interview with
BGI's Andrew Ivins. "He also wants to
get his SAT score, so we can take an of-

choose among Notre Dame, Alabama, Georgia
Tech, Georgia and Stanford sometime around
