Rating of Notre Dame's men's lacrosse team by both Inside Lacrosse and Nike/LM, whose preseason
No. 1 pick each of the last two years went on to win the national title. The Irish have been to two
straight Final Fours and four of the last six, but have not yet won it all, losing 11‑10 in overtime last year
to national champion Denver in the semifinals. Head coach

that are considered the best nationally at their position:
senior attack Matt Kavanagh, junior midfielder Sergio

passes. Ahead of him were: Jimmy
Clausen's 161.4 in 2009, Bob Wil‑
liams' 161.4 during the 1949 national
title season, Brady Quinn's 158.4 in
2005, Heisman winner John Huarte's
155.1 in 1964 during a 9‑1 finish,
and Kevin McDougal's 151.3 during
the 11‑1 campaign in 1993. All were
seniors or juniors. Kizer also rushed
for 520 yards.
