IRISH IN THE PROS BY ANDREW OWENS O ffensive tackle Ryan Harris and safety David Bruton added their names to the list of former Irish play- ers that have participated on NFL championship squads with the Den- ver Broncos' 24-10 win over the Caro- lina Panthers in Super Bowl 50 Feb. 7. Had the Panthers been victorious, long snapper J.J. Jansen would have represented Notre Dame on the cham- pionship squad. Bruton did not play in the Super Bowl due to a broken fibula suffered late in the regular season. He recorded 49 tackles, seven pass deflections, two interceptions and two forced fumbles in 13 games (three starts) as a defen- sive back and special teams standout. Harris, who played at Notre Dame from 2003-06, started every game this year for Denver after being signeddur- ing the offseason.
