Clocked a 4.66 in the 40-yard dash and had a time of 4.31 in the pro shuttle. Added a 33.5-inch verti- cal jump. STATISTICS • Totaled 1,903 yards of offense and 28 touch- downs for an Abbotsford Secondary School that went 12-1. Added a team-high 70 tackles, five interceptions and two sacks on defense. • Scored six touchdowns –– four receiving and two rushing –– against John Barsby in the Class AA Subway Bowl quarterfinals. Added 386 re- ceiving yards and an interception in the win. • Abbotsford Secondary School's career leader in receptions (79), receiving yards (2,157), receiving touchdowns (29), all-purpose yards (3,575) and interceptions (six). HONORS • Named B.C. Secondary Schools Football Associa- tion AA Player of the Year. • Finalist for the Sport BC Male High School Ath- lete of the Year award. ALL-STAR GAMES AND CAMPS • Invited to play the Blue Grey All-American Bowl, but elected not to attend the event because of basketball. • Participated in The Opening at Nike's World Headquarters in Beaverton, Ore., and also com- peted at the Irish Invasion. RECRUITMENT • Committed to Notre Dame at The Opening on July 10, 2015, live on ESPNU. Also held offers from Oregon, Tennessee, Utah, Washington, Rutgers, Michigan, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State and Nebraska. • Took unofficial visits to Oregon, Washington and Michigan, but was sold on Notre Dame after a trip in June. • Developed a bond with Irish associate head coach Mike Denbrock throughout his recruit- ment, but also spoke with recruiting coordi- nator Mike Elston and tight ends coach Scott Booker. NOTABLE • Born July 7, 1998. • Will become the first Canadian prospect to play for the Irish since Toronto's Bill Mitoulas, who was a linebacker at Notre Dame from 1994-97. • A two-sport star, Claypool doubles as a for- ward on the basketball court. He was a B.C. Hoop Scoop AAA All-British Columbia second- team selection as a junior and opened his se- nior season with 50 points and 19 rebounds in a win. 2016 PROJECTION • Given his skills and ability to make tackles in open space, he could see time on special teams as a freshman.
