STATISTICS • As a senior, rushed for 1,070 yards and 18 touchdowns, and caught 29 passes for 662 yards and seven touchdowns. Defensively, totaled 92 tackles, 19 stops for a loss, three forced fumbles and one interception. • As a junior, rushed for 749 yards and 11 touch- downs, and caught 20 passes for 549 yards and nine touchdowns. Defensively, totaled 75 tackles and made five interceptions, returning three for touchdowns. HONORS • As a senior, earned first-team MaxPreps Me- dium School All-America honors, first-team Chi- cago Tribune all-state recognition and Pioneer Press Area Offensive Player of the Year acco- lades. • As a junior, received first-team Chicago Tribune all-state honors and was named Pioneer Press Area Offensive Player of the Year. ALL-STAR GAMES AND CAMPS • Participated in the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl — a high school all-star game — Jan. 16 in Jack- sonville, Fla. RECRUITMENT • Gave his verbal commitment to Notre Dame on March 21, 2015. • Also received offers from Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and Boston College, among others. • Visited campus unofficially for numerous games and took his official visit over the week- end of Notre Dame's postseason awards banquet (Dec. 11-13). • Primarily recruited by associate head coach Mike Denbrock and secondarily recruited by de- fensive backs coach Todd Lyght. NOTABLE • Born March 19, 1998. • Wants to major in business finance with a mi- nor in film and production. • Starred in a lead role as "Donkey" in the school play version of "Shrek" his sophomore year. • His father, Detraiter Love, holds the basket- ball career scoring record at Wentworth Military College, a Division II junior college, with 1,283 points. • Helped Nazareth Academy to the Class 5A state title, its first in school history, as a junior and another Class 5A state championship as a senior. 2016 PROJECTION • Unlikely to see the field due to a two-deep that returns several cornerbacks. THEY SAID IT • Head coach Brian Kelly (courtesy UND.com): "Julian comes from a program that has won back- to-back state titles. Julian is a winner and heck of a football player. He is an all around great athlete and will be a leader on and off the football field at Notre Dame." • Defensive backs coach Todd Lyght: "He was one of the very first recruits that I watched on film when I got here. Unbelievable talent. His versatil- ity, he's the type of corner that can play inside and out. If you want to move him to safety you can do that, because he is so physical. Very smart football player with great intelligence."
