Devin Studstill was never supposed
to sign with Notre Dame. Neither was
his good friend and former teammate
Te'von Coney. So when Coney inked
an early financial-aid agreement with
Notre Dame last fall and enrolled in
January, Studstill knew that he had to
give the Irish a look.
"Te'von's like a big brother to me,"
Studstill said. "He's someone that I
look up to."
He's also one of the reasons why
Studstill turned down scholarship of-
fers from Miami, Texas, North Carolina
and his father's alma matter –– West
Virginia –– to play football in South
Bend.
"What stood out to me is what Notre
Dame does after football." Studstill
said. "At first, over the summer, when
I wasn't really leaning towards one
school, Te'von was bothering me every
day about it. He said, 'The coaches re-
ally want you. Come slide, bro.'"
It was a pitch that eventually worked.
