UNDER THE DOME Irish student-athletes excelling on the field and in the classroom Max Lachowecki — Soccer The fifth‑year senior left back from Evansville, Ind., was selected by Real Salt Lake with the fifth pick of the second round (25th overall) in the 2016 Major League Soccer Su‑ perDraft, after picking up all‑region honors for the Irish this past fall. With Lachowecki and senior midfielder Patrick Hodan (28th overall selection) being picked, the Irish have now had mul‑ tiple players taken in the same draft in 10 of the last 11 years. Cal Petersen — Hockey The sophomore goaltender from Waterloo, Iowa, picked up Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week honors Jan. 25 after allowing just three goals and posting a .940 save percentage in a two‑game sweep (5‑1 and 3‑2) at New Hamp‑ shire Jan. 22‑23. It marked the third conference player of the week honor this season for the former Hockey East All‑Rookie team per‑ former. Sofia Revilak — Swimming & Diving The freshman from Mexico City, Mexico, swam the fastest leg (49.84 seconds) for the Irish in their 400‑yard freestyle relay that set a new pool record in the event at the Shamrock Invitational Jan. 29‑30 in South Bend. The squad's time of 3:20.29 bested the previous mark of 3:21.16, which was set in 2013. Revilak also captured first place in the 100‑yard butterfly with a time of 54.95 seconds. Molly Seidel — Track & Field The senior from Hartland, Wis., posted a time of 8:57.13 to win the 3,000 meters at the Meyo Invitational Feb. 6 in South Bend. Her time shattered the previous school record held by Olympian Molly Huddle by more than 11 seconds. As of Feb. 6, the 2015 NCAA cross country champion's performance was ranked as the fastest time in the country. TOP OF THE CLASS
