THEY SAID IT • Head coach Brian Kelly (courtesy UND.com): "Liam is going to bring a sense of blue-collar toughness that he has shown while playing at St. Ignatius in Cleveland. I have no doubt that Liam will be a great addition to our offensive line room." • Offensive line coach Harry Hiestand (courtesy UND.com): "Very serious and focused on being successful. A tall, long armed, athlete that can cover a lot of space that is a true tackle. … He impressed me on his wanting to do it exactly like I was asking him to do it. Extremely coachable, extremely prideful and does not want to get beat. … Is very focused on being a great football player, but also has the same desires in school." • BGI football analyst Bryan Driskell: "Eichenberg is one of the best offensive tackles in the entire country and is exactly what Notre Dame is look- ing for in its edge players. He has a thick frame that will allow him to add significant weight and strength. At 6-6 with long arms and broad shoul- ders, Eichenberg has ideal length for the edge and plays with a strong base. "He is a physical run blocker that comes off low, does an excellent job driving his hips through con- tact and then buries opponents with his leg drive. Eichenberg has elite pass blocking potential that will show out as he gains more strength and experience."
